I was then spurred on to get out all my other curved log cabin blocks that have been completed each month since January and this is what they look like.
They are in no particular order and as you can see there is a gap to be filled in. At this stage my thoughts are to make one more set of 4 curved blocks, then proceed to join them up and complete the quilt using the quilt as you go method. I will trial a few colours to see what will make up the last block to fit in best with the rest.
In keeping with the purple theme a batch of blueberry muffins were made to enjoy with a cup of coffee.
During the week a friend of mine whose health is far from good "gifted" me a bag of fabric that she had intended to sew up as dresses for herself but time got away and her circumstances have now changed.
The fabric is not suitable for quilting but the pieces are fairly large - 2 to 3 metres in each piece - and they will sew up beautifully into dresses for the charity that I sew for.

Back soon and in the meantime
Happy
sewing all
Are you paper piecing these curvey log cabins? They are so pretty and it is interesting to note that some look curvier than others...very nice work on these hugs, Julierose

How fabulous all those blocks look playing with each other. Love your new purple block.
ReplyDeleteI bet you loved laying them all out - look at all the colorful goodness!! And purple really makes the others pop!
ReplyDeleteSEW sorry to hear that your friend is unwell, but glad that you will be putting her fabric to good use. Best of luck on deciding which color to use to finish up your Curved Log Cabin for the RSC!
ReplyDeleteThese look great! Thanks for linking with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish!
ReplyDeleteNice Curved Log Cabin blocks! Pretty colors.
ReplyDeleteNice block! I also guessed purple, but only made the one block before realising my mistake and making some blue ones. All your blocks together look great; have fun deciding on the layout.
ReplyDeleteThe purple block looks good in the mix of others. I'm wondering about the missing block, of course!
