During the week I was contacted by the person who co-ordinates the goods for the creche in Sir Lanka that is supported by Network Heaven and asked if I could hand over the bibs that have been made so far to enable the packing process to start happening. Over the past 6 months I used the Rainbow Scrap Challenge each month to sew up the various coloured scraps into slabs and then used those slabs to make the bibs.
The RSC colour for July is purple so I will continue on with sewing the scraps into slabs and then making them into bibs which will go towards next year's shipment.
The "sewing backwards" on paper is completed and here is the result below.
When joining in FNWF last night mini Christmas stockings were cut out and ready to go under the needle this week. Thanks Cheryll for having us all around again for another fun and productive night.
Time to get my skates on and head off as I am doing the first shift at the hospital auxiliary stall this morning in the local shopping centre. Fortunately we are inside so the heavy rain band will not affect us other than to maybe stop some venturing out unless they really have to.
Back soon and in the meantime
Happy
sewing all
Doing a blog hop for those participating in FNwF. The star looked very different and intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI guess you must be down under from me that lives in Sweden. Here we have summer and it is too hot, around 30 degrees Celsius.
Your bibs look great all lined up like that. Love the colours and I'm sure the recipients will love them too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in for FNwF Karen. I love the bibs & they are for a great cause too...xox
ReplyDeleteYou are doing so well with the different projects... I agree with trees looking sad during winter if they drop their leaves... i always want to fill them all with fairy lights...

You are a master of using every little bit. Love the way you piece together the slabs to make the bibs. They are so fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't wait to see a finish on those mini stockings!
Great use of your RSC crumb blocks. xx
ReplyDeleteThe bibs look good, all laid out ready to head on their way. I’m sure you will have another nice pile for next year. It sounds like you managed your sewing backwards without too much trouble. It won’t be long until the tree start to blossom and get their new leaves.
ReplyDeleteWhat a rainbow of bibs! Stay safe in that rain and sew on !
