Wonderful World of Colour Blog Hop

Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue
I can sing a rainbow
Sing a Rainbow too
Sing a Rainbow too!

When I first saw the title of this blog hop those were the first words that went through my mind and everytime I thought about what to sew those words kept popping into my head so it was decided that I should sew a rainbow.

I take my recycling down to the bins everyday and my current recyling bag has developed a tear so it was time to replace it and in order to make a dreary chore into something bright I headed to the various scrap baskets, thought of the words of the song and pulled the various colours as I went. Here is my rainbow recycling bag.

I did re-use the handles from my existing bag to be in keeping with recycling.   The bottom is boxed and I used a waterproof lining inside just in case of any spills.   Even though grey is not a rainbow colour it does preceed a rainbow.    The same fabrics are repeated on the other side.

Thank you Joan for organising another fun blog hop.    Don't forget to head over to the following blogs to see more colourful projects.

Back soon and in the meantime

Happy sewing all

  6. Such a great idea for a project. That it's so bright and cheery does take some of the work out of its purpose in life especially if you sing your little song as you go to the recycle bin.

  21. What a great idea for a project. I enjoy when I can make something functional and beautiful. I love that you put the stripes in the same order as the song - I bet I can guess what you'll be signing to yourself when you take out the recycling. I also love that you recycled the handles. It's great to reuse - especially on earth day :).
