Almost got there

My OMG for April was to get the first three rows of the quilt quilted.

Three rows are together but only two are quilted.

Time to head on over here to see hopefully more achieved goals.

FNSI

Was a team effort last night.    Miss M is staying with us for the last week of the school holidays and she decided that a patchwork blanket was needed for one of her soft squishy toys.   During the afternoon she sorted through some squares, arranged them in order then sewed the flimsy by herself.   I was elected to sew the minky fabric on the back.  Here is our team effort.

After Miss M went to bed I managed to cast on 95 stitches, knit into the back of them and then start on the first two rows of ribbing while watching tv.

I hope that everyone else who joined in with FNSI achieved a lot more than I did.

FNwF

I am glad that Cheryll postponed FNwF for another week as the last couple of weeks have been busy catching up with family and friends before, over and after the Easter break.

As a consequence of all this socialising and catching up not much has been happening in the sewing room.  I did however get an order for 4 bibs for a baby girl.    They were delivered yesterday.

I also had an order last week for a couple of heat packs which I filled last night while joining in with FNwF.

Now that the weather is cooling down it is time to pick up the knitting needles and back to beanies. These three have been worked on and off over a period of a couple of weeks.   Notice no red yard in sight.

My latest audio book that is keeping me company in the sewing room is Anne of Green Gables.

I  heard this book being discussed recently and do not have any recollection of reading it as a child.   I remember quite clearly reading the Heidi books, Little Women and many other classics but not Anne of Green Gables.

This is the pile of books that are waiting to be read at bedtime.

I am looking forward to starting the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency as I really enjoyed watching this series many years ago when it was on tv.

It is starting off a lovely clear sunny morning here -  a rare event these days as we have had quite a lot of rain over the past few weeks so I am going to head off for the day and take advantage of the sunshine while it is around.

April OMG

Another month has ended and new one begun so time to get that goal for April set which for me is to get the first three rows sewn together and quilted.   First up is to get the backing stretched out flat, followed by the wadding, then the first row all nicely smoothed out on top.    Time now to start  pinning and marking out the quilting lines.

Over the course of the last two weeks I managed to finish off the five snap top bags that had been cut out previously.

As well as the four cross body bags.

Both the snap top bags and cross body bags are being donated to the hospital Auxiliary Mothers' Day stall which will be held next month.

Thanks Patty for organising us again.
