However this long and lasting drought that we have experienced for quite sometime has taken its toll on the old tree and this is what it has looked like for the past couple of weeks.
A dead and dangerous tree.
Every time the wind blew we held our breath and hoped that it would hold on until the tree lopper arrived at first light today to do what a tree lopper does.
Up he goes
The man has nerves of steel
I hold my breath as it goes up and over the garage roof
Halfway there
The last cut
All done
What a difference a day makes.
Back soon and in the meantime
Happy
sewing all

Boy it sure was a big tree. Nice to have it removed after it died .
A very wise decision to have it cut down. I have witnessed a gum tree falling right in front of my eyes where my daughter had just been standing. It happens so quickly and you don't really know what is happening until it is too late. A relative was killed by a falling gum tree too. You can replace it with another tree.
Yikes! We have had tree work done several times. Those guys are far more courageous than I. They go up so high. It makes me dizzy just to watch them. Cool pictures!!
It was a huge tree! Too bad he died, but now you are in the clear
we had to have a very large tree cut down last fall I hated to see it go but it had to be done - along with some tall pine trees that were leaning a bit too much towards the house.
