Welcome to my blog and today it is my turn to share with you my interpretation of Tickled Pink. My first thought when reading the title of this hop was of a feather - let's face it there is nothing more ticklish than a feather. Now to work out what was the best way to go about this led me to Pinterest of course. Feathers of all shapes and sizes confronted me but one kept leaping out and that was to go with paper piecing. I love the accuracy of this method but for some reason my brain does not do backwards and upside too well but I perserved with a bit lot of unpicking and for anyone who has had to unpick all those teeny tiny stitches knows just how time consuming, frustrating and annoying it is.
Those teeny tiny stitches are needed in order to rip the paper off at the end without unpulling the stitching. This is also a drawback of this method.

What a fun "tickle" project...well, unless you are un-stitching things! LOL!! Paper piecing used to drive me crazy, but finally I got my brain wrapped around it and I do love a good paper piecing project from time to time now. Hang in there with it, it's fun once you "get" in the groove. :-)

The feathers are gorgeous. Your choice of PP was great. I love the accuracy, too. After my PP pineapple quilt is done, I'm hoping PP will be as natural as sewing.

wonderful feather. your idea tickled me. yes I really did write that. I generally don't paper piece for the same reasons that you noted. I did find that the last time I did each piece first with bigger stitches, flipped it and made sure it fit and then went back and did the little stitches. It was a bit of a nuisance but less frustrating than ripping tiney stitches or throwing the project in the trash in temper.

What a sweet pink feather! Good job on persevering through the stitch picking. It really does get easier as you do more of it! I know because I don’t do backwards well either and had to just keep trying! 😉
I'm a bit the same with foundation piecing - I do like doing it - but getting rid of the foundation?? not so much fun - I have printed onto very fine vilene and that is easier as you can leave it in.
But I love the feather.
