Today was one of those days that you just had to be out and about in the beautiful sunshine. Waiting for the ferry to leave Manly wharf to head into the city.
I was lucky to get front row seats without anyone in front of me until we neared the City.
The purpose of my trip was to visit the Caylax in the Royal Botanic Gardens.
Inside the Caylax
Time to have some morning tea, find a seat to sit down and enjoy only to be joined by "a friend" who was eyeing off my piece of cake. He did keep his distance and behaved himself.
Where some stunning roses could be seen.
No matter which direction you walk within the Gardens glimpses of the City can be seen from most areas. One of the many statues and fountains that can be found throughout the Gardens.
Some sewing has happened this week. My mother asked if I could make her some placemats for gifts. The brief was 5 single placemats, each to be 12" x 18" using only feature fabric without borders. The requested fabrics were chocolate, cheese, cats and two were to be wild birds. Onto my favourite online fabric store - Find a Fabric - ordered the requested fabrics which arrived quite quickly. Here is the result
Now that the weather is warming up me thinks that it is time to try out the pool tomorrow.....maybe.
Back soon and in the meantime
Happy
sewing all

What a wonderful exhibition. The botanic Gardens are always lovely to walk around. Well done on meeting the placemat brief. I’m sure she was pleased with them.
