Here we go again

Sydney has been placed back into a 14 day lockdown with residents only being able to leave their home for essential shopping,  medical services, exercising or those who need to go to work if they are unable to do so from home.   Unfortunately this lockdown has co-incided with the start of the school holidays yet again.  Hubs and I were going to have Miss M come and stay with us for the first part of the holidays but that will not be happening.

No excuse not to finish off my scrap bag challenge tablerunner - my nominated OMG for June - which I did this morning.    This is the scraps  that I drew

And this is how they ended up

Some of the smaller pieces of fabric were used to make up a scrap binding.   I did raid my stash for the border fabric as there was nothing in the scrap bag fabrics that was big enough to use for it.

You can pop on over here to see some more finishes for this month.

Day one of lockdown over - only 13 more to go.   Me thinks lots more sewing, reading, cooking and knitting will be done during that time.

Back soon and in the meantime

Happy sewing all

The runner turned out so well. I can’t believe how every school holidays or long weekend seems to bring on a lock down somewhere. We have to wear masks everywhere this time. It is the first time since the start of the pandemic that we have had that introduced. Here’s hoping they can get on top of things quickly and the public do the right thing. I just hope you have enough toilet paper 🧻 😜🤣

Looove the table runner. You must be so disappointed about not seeing Miss M. Is care giving not allowed or does she not live near you?

Lockdown will be over before you know it and you will be wanting more days off for yourself. Make the most of it. Think positive.

Hi Karen! It seems to me that the lockdown occurred because they don't want all the families traveling about and mixing up. Where I live in the USA in Wisconsin, we haven't had a lockdown since last August. However, I work in a nearby state which has had lockdowns. I was able to go to work because of being an essential worker (school district). I've worn a mask throughout and even after being fully vaccinated in March. We will start the new school year with everyone wearing masks, social distancing, etc. Great job on your table runner! It is amazing that all came from one bag of scraps. Stay safe and healthy! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

The ru ner looks great! Shame about your planned visit. We are now having a 3 day lockdown....makes our weekly hospital visit more of a pain! But better to be safe x

Wonderful table runner. Shame the lockdown has come again, hopefully it stops the virus spread. For once we have no stay at home!

Sorry you can't have your visitor, but a lockdown is not such bad news if you don't need to go to work. We have just escaped one here today, but didn't stop people panicking and rushing to the shops.
