Over the course of the past few days a finish was achieved.... the long hot mat that was being made for when several dishes are laid out on the kitchen bench.
I did do quite a bit of fmq on this one even though it cannot be seen but it was done for my own satisfaction of saying that it was attempted. The skill still needs a lot of practice but it is improving and doing it in small areas felt far more comfortable than over a large quilt.
A start was made also on the capsule/pram covers. I decided to go with 5 1/2" squares which meant that 36 squares were cut in order to have a 30" x 30" finish. Progress so far on the first one
When joining in with for FNSI the blocks for the second cover were cut.
After putting the machine to bed I wandered out to watch Midsomer Murders and finished off the shaping of the crown on the purple/lilac beanie that was started last week.

I enjoyed sitting sewing with you last night Karen. It's a social of a different variety isn't it. Oh well...fingers crossed we'll be out of lockdown soon...xox
You have been productive Karen, love the beanie colours.
Always a nice to join you for an enjoyable evening crafting....
You managed to get a good start on the second capsule cover and the beanie is nearly done...
Lots of fun projects here. Your knitting is coming right along and looks so pretty. Catch you next month!
Great idea fir your bench. Is the capsule cover used as a little quilt like in a pram? Another lovely beanie in my fav colour. Many projects on the go as usual. Well done!
I love the counter cloth/quilt.... looks so good and the colours for your capsule quilt are pretty....

The counter took will be very handy. I’m glad your machine quilting is going well. The pram covers will be nice and soft.
That is a good size to practice FMQ on. What a handy addition to a kitchen bench (or table)
Love the beanie colours. Very productive night.
Thanks for joining the September 2021 TABLE SCRAPS Challenge, Karen! Your long hot mat was the perfect place to practice some free motion quilting. Excellent idea (and bonus points for using the RSC Color of the Month!) It looks like a festive decorative, yet utilitarian, piece for Fall.
Great table topper! A perfect place to practice some fmq.
