A visit to the Australian War Memorial shows soliders on parade at the Pool of Reflection
Looking across Lake Burley Griffin to Old Parliament House in the foreground with New Parliament House behind. On the LHS is the High Court of Australia and on the RHS is the National Library.
A closer look at those blossom trees along the promenade of the lake with the Carillion off to the left.
A visit to the Botanical Gardens felt more like a walk in the rainforest in Far North Queensland. The vegetation for a cold climate area was a real surprise.
On the way home we detoured via Bowral for a quick tip toe through the tulips.
After a day a or two at home catching up on the "domestics" we took ourselves off to the city to enjoy the annual spring flower display at David Jones Elizabeth store
The next day found us wandering around the Blue Mountains enjoying the spring blossoms in country lanes

Lovely photos. Canberra is at it's best with the blossoma and bulbs. Looks like you fitted a lot in in your holiday break. Enjoy getting back to work.
Makes me want to go and visit even more now Karen. Some lovely photos and one always has to do a bit of stash building...looking forward to hearing about your secret squirrel sewing :) hugs Vicki x
Beautiful photos Karen, looks like you had a lovely time.
Lovely photos of your holiday Karen. Sadly I haven't seen many blossoms here in the mid-west.
Botany Bay! My g.g.g. grandparents found themselves on those shores many moons ago. It actually looks a lovely place now!
Love the pics . Looks like you had a wonderful Holiday.
Some gorgeous photos there Karen. We miss those beautiful winter/spring flowers here in Qld, but never mind, other things to compensate! Glad to see some more stash building happening there too!
Cheers
Cheryl
