A decision was made and FNwF

I have been waxing and waning for a couple of months now between taking a stall in February but decided on New Year's day that I will give this one a miss with the reason being that in order to make it successful there has to be a good amount and variety of items to sell and with the success of the last stall a lot of sewing needed to be done even though there is still about 5 weeks to go I could not see myself spending the required amount of time in the sewing room in order to achieve this as well as attending to everyday activities that need to happen.

Now that that decision has been made I will continue to make items and put them aside in my giftie box and take part in another stall later on in the year if the opportunity arises otherwise my gift giving will be covered for sometime to come.  Some of the items will also be donated to the hospital auxiliary stall.   Either way I get the pleasure of sewing the items and using up my stash.

I went to Spotty today to buy two reels of threads and this fabric somehow fell into my basket.   They really do need to make the shelving safer so that fabric cannot fall off as you are passing.   I do see aprons, bowl cosies, placemats, pot holders and bibs swimming before my eyes.   The calico is needed for the lining of bottle bags and the grey is a backing fabric for ???????  quilt.     It does pay to be prepared for any sewing emergency which may crop up.

Some holiday reading has been happening over the past couple of weeks.

The second book is an interesting topic and one which is not explored too much from the donor's point of view.

Not much happened in the sewing room last night when joining in with FNwF other than 3 red pom poms being made as Miss M is staying with us for a few days.

Don't forget to head on over here to see what other crafting was happening last night  during FNwF.

Back soon and in the meantime

Happy sewing all

Fabric falling off shelves and into carts seems to be happening all over the world. LOL Your pom poms are adorable. I'm hoping to join more FNwF events this year.

Morning Karen. You would feel a bit lighter now the decision has been made about the stall. Now you should see the movie of My Sisters Keeper. It is different to the book but still very good.

Decision made and now you can plan gently. not worth putting extra pressure on yourself. Funny how fabric jumps into bags isn't it....

Sometimes making the decision it the hardest, but once you made it the pressure is off. I have a couple of dilemma's like that coming up.

I'm sure you feel less stressed now you have decided!

Funny how those fabrics find us - but the front ones are particularly good for your stall projects.

I'm sure you'll enjoy sewing up that fabric that fell in your basket.
Cute pompoms you made while having Miss M.

Enjoy your time with Miss M. I haven't been to any fabric shops since the pandemic began but shall enjoy a Spotty visit when it eventually happens. Your little stash is perfect for what you have in mind. Good decision not to put too much pressure on yourself for a stall so early in the year. I am sure you will have plenty of things prepared for another time. Enjoy using your new fabrics.

It can be really dangerous sometimes going into fabric shops! Always nice to be prepared though. xx

It sounds like you made the right decision about the stall. You want your stitching to be fun and not become a chore. I’m sure another opportunity will pop up later in the year. I agree that Spotty needs to stop things falling off their shelves. It’s quite a health (and pocket) hazard going in there.
