Photo a day 21

"A little chaos" is today's photo challenge and that was not hard to photograph.

This seems to be the constant state of my sewing table unless I make a concentrated effort to clean it up and do not have any projects on the go...which is hardly ever.

"My desk" it today's photo challenge.   I always like to try and keep my desk tidy and clutter free unlike my sewing table which always seems to be swamped with fabric.

Photo a day 18

Today's prompt is "Today's Vibe".  I had to get a definition on this one which I found to be "the mood of a place, situation, person etc".   Today is not a good day for various reasons.

Photo a day 17

Today's challenge is "Something soft"  and there is nothing softer than my throw which sits on the arm of the lounge and is lovely to snuggle into on a chilly night or to help keep warm under the air conditioner if it gets too cold on a warm night.

FNSI

I had a message during the week from Management where we live asking if I would be interested in taking a stall in March when there will be an Open Day.   After a think and a quick stocktake of the few things that were leftover from another stall I felt that it was possible to sew what would be needed to have adequate stock to sell.   Babys' bibs are needed as well as bowl cosies, decorated handtowels, heat packs, cross body bags, tooth fairy pillows and seeing that it is reasonably close to Easter some Easter bunny treat bags will be added in as well.  A start was made today when joining in with FNSI after lunch on gathering fabrics for the baby bibs.   A total of 6 were cut out and pinned ready to sew.

Back soon with photos of the completed bibs and hopefully some cut out heat packs.

You can hop on over here to see more FNSI happenings.

Photo a day 14

Today's photo is "What made me smile" and that would be this plush toy that I purchased for Miss M who is going to have her tonsils out this week.   She loves anything Cinnamoroll and when this was spotted it brought a smile to my face and I hope that it brings one to her face as she recovers.

Something else that made me smile was to finish off sewing and deliver the bowl and plate cosies which were ordered last week.

Photo a day 12

The challenge today was "a Favourite Place".   That would have to be walking along the water's edge at the beach early in the morning.  This was taken at Warriewood Beach looking north towards Mona Vale.

FNwF

Firstly I have to share with you the jigsaw puzzle that I was given for Christmas which was completed earlier in the week.

It was a fun puzzle to do with some challenging shapes.   I have not done one in the "round" before and had to get used to holding the pieces at an angle when trying to fit them together.

I had an order come in during the week for 2 bowl cosies with matching dinner plate cosies.   The request was for red, grey, black or navy colours.  They were cut out last night when joining in with Cheryll and the other crafters taking part in FNwF.

Photo a day 7

Today's challenge is "Something Inspiring".   I have a photo of my late father sitting on my sewing table facing my sewing machine and I feel that  he is encouraging and inspiring me.  Dad's  motto was "get up, dress up and show up" and that he did until the very last day of his life.

Photo a day 6

"My shoes today" is the photo of the day.  Seeing that I was out for a walk early this morning these are my shoes for the day.  They are most comfortable and I could walk all day in them without my feet, back or legs complaining.

The prompt for today is "A Quiet Moment".    Nothing says quieter to me than sitting reading a book.

This is the chosen book for book club this month .   I am finding it particularly interesting as it is set around the Northern Beaches where I live so I can relate to the various suburbs that are being referred to.

FNwF officially starts............

Next Friday but I was on a roll with my blue scraps that were being sewn together during a Zoom session on Thursday.

So decided to do my own Friday night sewing - which started after lunch today - and  finish off constructing the blocks.  These are the blocks that will be made each month for the RSC challenge this year.   Each strip is cut 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" and the 4 blocks when joined together are 12 1/2" square.

Progress is being made on the jigsaw puzzle albeit slow as there are some peculiar shaped pieces that are challenging.

Photo a day Challenge

This was a challenge that I saw on Facebook but have decided to make this a personal challenge and only post on my blog daily (hopefully I can keep it up) instead of on Facebook.   Day one prompt is Something Fresh

Nothing says fresher to me than a bowl of fruit.
