A jigsaw puzzle

Is what putting this quilt together feels like as I move the blocks around to "fit".     I am designing this quilt in panels and so far  the middle section is sewn,  the side sashings have been added in and working on the blocks as I go in order to get a good balance of colour.

There was a hold up getting the wool wadding but that has now been sorted so I spent the afternoon sandwiching and pinning the middle section ready to quilt.

Next it is back to making another 44 blocks for the top and bottom sections of the quilt.     This quilt is for a single bed however I  always like to make my quilts the next size bed up so that there is plenty of overhang especially for a restless sleeper.

Thanks Wendy for organising FNSI.    To see what everyone else was busy doing pop on over to Sugarlane Designs.

Linking with Elm Street Quilts OMG for April as my goal was to make a start on getting part of the fairy quilt top together.

Back soon and in the meantime

Happy sewing all

The quilt is looking really beautiful. I'd do similar - make enough for an overhang. And you are quite right; putting a quilt together does feel like a jigsaw puzzle! x

Wow, I love the colours you have used, and I too make quilts etc. that next bed size up for exactly the same reason as you mentioned.

Hopefully you like jigsaw puzzles! You have done a great job with spacing on the main block of the quilt. It is lovely so far.

Very pretty. I love quilts made with simple four and nine patch blocks. I am wondering if you are also quilting the panels as you go. I also like to make bed quilts that are oversized with plenty of room to snuggle under. Looking forward to seeing more of this as you progress. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a kind word and a trail trail back to your lovely quiltiness ... :) Pat
