Carla at Creating in the Sticks is always organising a fun blog hop and this one is no exception. When looking at my stash I did realise that there is a distinct lack of stripes however I have been working with a fun range of toucan fabric which did include stripes so my dilemma was not a dilemma at all. Unfortunately it did not make it to the finish line but there is a flimsy to share with you all.

Not much time has been spent in the sewing room this week however all of the 192 x 4" squares for the HST sampler quilt are now cut and two of the blocks are together.
Last night when joining Wendy and the other crafters for FNSI a start was made on the third block.

Time has been spent in the sewing room this past week working on a few items - namely getting my first attempt at scappy applique to the finish line.
I decided to make my leaf in autumnal tones seeing that we are now in the last month of summer. It was a relatively easy process and I can see more scrappy applique projects happening in the future.Happy sewing all
Good progress is being made on my fun toucan quilt. First step was to sew the two small squares together and then getting them pinned to the rectangles.

I was given this pretty and vibrant fabric a while ago and it is time that it was broken out of its packet.
It has been taken out of the cupboard a few times looked at and put back as I was not sure how it was to end up. The one thing I did know was that it was not going to be cut up into small squares as the toucans needed to be showcased.
