All set to go

It has been 4 weeks since my sewing machine has had any exercise even though it has been sitting patiently on its new table for 2 weeks now waiting for me to finish off unpacking boxes - all have now been emptied except for those which contain the contents for a display cabinet that was ordered during the week but will not be here for approx 5 weeks...those boxes are now out of sight in the second bedroom cupboard.

I was so looking forward to last night when joining Cheryll and the other crafters for  FNWF.    At last I could it down and sew which I did until I discovered the everything else was in place except for the power cord for my sewing machine......WHAT I said to myself - all boxes for the craft room have been unpacked and disposed of so where is the cord.    Getting up from my chair and looking in all the obvious places with no luck it was time to head downstairs into our storage area as I knew there was a box down there marked "extension cords etc" .   No luck there either - then I spotted my sewing trolley - it must be in there I said to myself....no again.    Now where to look ????

Back into the sewing room again for another look at what I had looked at before with the exception that I did not take out the foot pedal for the overlocker and there it was neatly packed with that.

The missing cord is now where it should be.

By this time I had lost all motivation to  sew so I sat down,  had a piece of chocolate and watched tv instead.    I hope that everyone else who joined in with FNWF did better than I did last night.

Further to my last post and the question that I asked re whether I could access my blog when it was set up under my previous service provider the answer to the question is that all seems to be OK so far.    I am able to access, comment and post so thank you to all those who offered advice.

I need to get my head around where I was up to with the challenge quilt that I was working before the move and hopefully now that I am returning to my two quilting groups this week that I can get back into the grove again.

Back soon and in the meantime

Happy sewing all

That was quite the exploratory mission to find the missing cord.... definitely the need for chocolate and a sit down after that stress!!!

I think that is now a wise piece of advice for future moves! Pack all items for the machines in the same box! LOL

Oh boy, hopefully you found it. I would act like you did, too much emotion to retrieve it, so a need for chocolate ;)

I'm glad that you found your sewing machine cable and can sew, sew, sew when your sewjo returns.

So glad you found your power cable! Now that you are unpacked I'm sure everything will go smoothly when do you finally get to sit down and sew. Can't wait to see progress on your challenge quilt. Happy sewing! Enjoy your new space!

At least your sewing area is set up ready to go now. Never put anything in a 'safe' place lol.

That would have been a scary moment. Thank goodness you found it. You may not have achieved any stitching, but at least you are now raring and ready to go with a fully operational machine.
