I was stopped by one of the residents where I live when going to check the mail earlier in the week and asked if I will have adult bibs for sale on my stall. They were not on the "to do list" but they are now. I did make two as a special order a while ago so the pattern was pulled out, four have now been cut out and a start has been made on sewing them.
That pile of fabric scraps which was residing on my sewing table has finally been tamed. It now looks like this
While getting the mess into some sort of order a pile of green scraps were uncovered and were turned into the blocks for this months RSC. Looking forward to seeing what colour is chosen for March.
This pile of bibs went AWOL a while ago and they were also uncovered - they only needed a good press and their snaps added. Done

My goal when joining in with FNSI was to finish off the hanging hand towels......buttonholes and buttons were needed to complete the task. My machine does a "good" buttonhole and all 8 were completed within a very short space of time.
Buttons all handsewn on - this took longer than the buttonholes. The machine will sew them on but I have not used this function.

Me, my machine and overlocker have been glued together for the past couple of weeks getting items sewn for my stall next month. So far on the list to be ticked off

A few weeks before Christmas during one of the severe summer storms which hit Sydney quite a few big branches on one of the gum trees near us came down and it was discovered that the tree was dying so it was deemed necessary to be removed which happened during the week. Being such a large tree called for a crane to be brought in. You can see the tree lopper high up in the tree in his orange gear.

What has been happening over the past couple of weeks other than the photo a day challenge. Firstly some reading matters. I always grab a pile of books when going to the library. It does not take long to get through them.

The last prompt for this challenge is "A fruit" . Mangoes are still in season so that was my choice for today's photo.

"A goal I'm working on" was today's photo challenge. I am currently working on finishing off 6 baby's bibs. They need to be pressed, top sewn and have a snap fastener attached.

Today's photo request was a "Moment of Joy" which for me was finishing off 4 heat packs for my up and coming stall in mid March.

It looks like another hot sunny day ahead of us. A good day to start with a swim then head into the sewing room.

Today's photo called for "A Plant". With all this hot humid weather that we have been having this plant looked so cool.

"Looking down" was today's challenge. I live on the second floor and usually use the stairs to walk up and down unless bringing up shopping. When reaching the top of the stairs yesterday I looked back down the stairwell.

"My desk" it today's photo challenge. I always like to try and keep my desk tidy and clutter free unlike my sewing table which always seems to be swamped with fabric.

Today's prompt is "Today's Vibe". I had to get a definition on this one which I found to be "the mood of a place, situation, person etc". Today is not a good day for various reasons.

Today's challenge is "Something soft" and there is nothing softer than my throw which sits on the arm of the lounge and is lovely to snuggle into on a chilly night or to help keep warm under the air conditioner if it gets too cold on a warm night.

I had a message during the week from Management where we live asking if I would be interested in taking a stall in March when there will be an Open Day. After a think and a quick stocktake of the few things that were leftover from another stall I felt that it was possible to sew what would be needed to have adequate stock to sell. Babys' bibs are needed as well as bowl cosies, decorated handtowels, heat packs, cross body bags, tooth fairy pillows and seeing that it is reasonably close to Easter some Easter bunny treat bags will be added in as well. A start was made today when joining in with FNSI after lunch on gathering fabrics for the baby bibs. A total of 6 were cut out and pinned ready to sew.
Back soon with photos of the completed bibs and hopefully some cut out heat packs.
You can hop on over here to see more FNSI happenings.

"In my hand" had me thinking what would be interesting in my hand? It had to be a book. This is my current read

Today's photo is "What made me smile" and that would be this plush toy that I purchased for Miss M who is going to have her tonsils out this week. She loves anything Cinnamoroll and when this was spotted it brought a smile to my face and I hope that it brings one to her face as she recovers.
Something else that made me smile was to finish off sewing and deliver the bowl and plate cosies which were ordered last week.
