Handover Day

All that fabric that has been arriving at my front door over the past few months has now been turned into 38 skirts which are packed up in their respective sizes along with 20 bibs and were  handed over to the co-ordinator today.

The overlocker has been cleaned and oiled and can have a well earned rest for  a while.

While it is not mandatory in NSW at present to wear a mask when out in public me thinks that it may soon be as there are clusters of COVID-19 breaking out in some suburbs of Sydney as well as several regional areas of NSW so not to be caught short without a mask I made one for hubs and myself today.

I saw the pattern here and liked the shape as well as the ease of making it.     The red one is a very thick drill fabric so only 2 layers of fabric were used but I did put a lining in between the layers of the black and white one.     The hat elastic fits nicely around the ears without pulling.      More will be made for us both should they become a requirement.

Beanie No 8 is in progress.

Great work with all that sewing. I always love it when it is done and collected - feels like a tick off the board! The masks look similar to the ones I have done. the knitting looks great - pretty colour

Well done making all those bibs and dresses. I made masks with ties as the ones with elastic keep slipping over my eyes every time I look down lol. Compulsory here when I go out one day a week to the supermarket and chemist for our supplies and my parents' supplies. Another lovely beanie in progress.

Thank you for the link to make the masks, really easy to do - except when your bobbin runs out 1" from the end!

Well done for making so many bibs and skirts! Will you be making anymore or is that the last of them? x

Well done making all those bibs and skirts!
Thank you for the link to the mask tutorial. I’ve found a few links and been given links to other tutorials but yours certainly looks the simplest! I haven’t needed to go out during lock down and although I’ve made a couple of masks already, and hubby has happily used the one I made him, the pleats in them were too much for my sewing machine and I don’t really want to try stitching more of those! So ..... I’m off to measure a dinner plate! 😄

Good idea to get a jump on the masks. Until the last month my county had 1 death and 20 something cases. Then the governor opened up the state and our town was overcome with people from the next state over, as of last week we were 380 cases and 14 deaths. Can't wait to see your finished beanie.
