Table Scraps

The RSC challenge colour this month is blue and in keeping with making bibs for each month this is how the scraps now look.   Stripes was the theme for the table scrap challenge though there are no blue stripes among those scraps I did add in some light grey ones.

Sewing on bindings last week and then sewing these bibs together was a great way to empty those bobbins which each a had small amount of thread left on them.

I am happy to say that the empties now look like this.

Time to pull fabrics from the stash to make children's aprons for my stall.

Here is the finished product.

This book  was started a couple of nights ago and is proving to be a real page turner.   Set in Australia during WW2 it is the story of two sisters - one married and the younger one single - who both fall in love with an American serviceman stationed here.

Next item on my list is to make Christmas tree trivets.    This involves what I call  "sewing" backwards on paper.

This gives the brain cells a workout and I really need to concentrate when doing this process.

Don't forget to visit the Joyful Quilter to see more blue table scrap projects.

Back soon and in the meantime

Happy sewing all

Bibs, bobbins, AND a batch of kid's aprons? As if all that wasn't enough, you moved on to a Christmas project, too! Thanks for sharing with the Table Scraps Link Party, Karen.

"Sewing backwards on paper," is such a great way to describe paper piecing! LOL. It challenges my noggin every time I do it. Nice job on the blue scrap bibs!

What a great little collection of makes. Isn’t it a good feel to finish off those little bits of threads on bobbins and fill them ready to go again.
