The Finish Line is......

In sight but sadly not reached.   My OMG for November was to sandwich, pin, quilt and bind the toucan quilt which has been sitting around the sewing room for sometime as a WIP due to many factors all of which were overcome last month.

I did however get it sandwiched, pinned and  quilted.  When moving the quilt through the machine at one point I was wondering why there seemed to be resistence.   Wonder no more....the backing had been sewn back on itself.    Some not so nice words were muttered under my breath.

This now leaves the trimming up to be done,  the binding to be sorted and sewn on.   I know there are still a couple of more days left in the month but commitments stop me from getting this one finished.

Time was spent this last week  going through my stash of novelty fabrics to be used for baby bibs.

This pile of cut out bibs now needs to be sewn up.

We have been having very wet and quite cool November weather so I decided to chop up the veggies in the crisper to make a cottage pie for dinner.     I like the idea of "cook once - eat twice" which often happens in my kitchen.    Enough pie was made for tonight's dinner and the remainder is in the freezer for another night.

Thank you Patty for pushing us along with our monthly goals.    I hope to see the finish line next month.

Back soon and in the meantime

Happy sewing all

It was you I could hear cursing Lol. So annoying. Sounds like your day was like mine yesterday. The bibs will be great. Do you use velcro or studs? I made a few of them years ago. It is a good pattern. Hope quilting goes more smoothly for you now.

You made good progress in spite of that resistance! It's annoying when that happens. Happy bib making this week!

Ohhhh, so sorry for the quilting troubles but you still made progress on the Toucan quilt. The cottage pie sounds delish. Isn't that a dish that tastes even better when leftover?

While you haven't quite finished your goal, I think almost is close enough!

Oh, I hate when that happens!
You have some cute baby bibs in the works.
It is hardly worth cooking if you can't get two meals out of it. LOL

You may not have a finish, but you made good progress. Don’t you hate little glitches like that. The bibs are cute. What do you use for backing? Cottage pie sounds yummy. I may have to make one, now you have put it in my mind. Definitely not the weather for salads as yet.

Oh do I hate when the back flips up and gets caught in the quilting. I hope the fix was easy! You have some cute fabrics for the bibs! I hope your December quilting and sewing will be happy!
